PRAXES from 2014-2015, had a outcomes study conducted at its agency of origin, Harbor View Community Services Center. Below are the results of that study.
PRAXES Outcomes Data at Harbor View Community Services Center
During the years 2014-2015, the Parents Reach Achieve and eXcel through Empowerment Strategies (PRAXES) parenting program was utilized at the Harbor View Community Services Center in Long Beach, CA. This was the agency where the PRAXES developer, Dan Thorne, LMFT, was the Director. He provided the training to over 25 of his staff, including therapists, case managers, and parent partners.
To provide outcome data, the PRAXES model used the Parenting Stress Index (PSI) and Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory (ECBI) as pre and post practice measures for each parent who enrolled in the program. During this period, 45 parents completed the program. Below are the average pre and post test scores for sub scores:
Parenting Stress Index:
|Subscale||Pre Test Average||Post Test Average||Stress Reduction Change|
|Parental Distress (PD)||38||25||34%|
|Parent Child Interaction Dysfunction (P-CDI)||38||26||30%|
|Difficult Child (DC)||41||30||25%|
Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory:
|Subscale||Pre Test Average||Post Test Average||Change|
|Intensity of Behavior – Raw Score||136||99||28%|
|Intensity of Behavior – T Score||61||51||17%|
|Problem for Parent-Raw Score||18||10||43%|
|Problem for Parent -T Score||64||54||15%|
